The Bluebell Railway is delighted to announce that a new service is now available on board one of its regular service trains.
One of our Lounge Cars will be on the 3pm service from Sheffield Park and passengers will be able to sit back and enjoy a traditional English afternoon tea.
Built in 1955 for Ocean Liner Express duties between Waterloo and Southampton, 3064 is a First Class carriage with a premium service to match her name. Car 4824 was used from 1959 to provide Restaurant Car accommodation, and will now provide a more relaxed Country Class experience. With the service of refreshments served aboard these fabulous restored carriages, passengers will be transported back to a bygone era of train travel.
The service will run on bank holiday weekends in May and August. Advance booking is recommended to secure a seat, although passengers may be able to join the train on the day if seats are available. Tickets, which cover tea and steam-hauled travel are priced at £25, and can be purchased by telephoning Reservations on 01825 720800.
Afternoon Tea consists of a selection of finger sandwiches, assorted
cakes and shortbread served with Indian tea.
