In 2009 our Lounge Car services will be available for Afternoon Tea on the 3pm trains from Sheffield Park on the dates below. Advance booking is recommended to secure a seat, although passengers may be able to join the train on the day if seats are available.
As a passenger on our Lounge Cars, just sit back and enjoy a traditional English afternoon tea as your steam-hauled train travels at a leisurely pace though the beautiful Sussex Wealden countryside.
Built in 1955 for Ocean Liner Express duties between Waterloo and Southampton, 3064 is a First Class carriage with a premium service to match her name. Car 4824 was used from 1959 to provide Restaurant Car accommodation, and has been refurbished to a high standard, to provide a relaxed Country Class experience. With the service of refreshments aboard these fabulous restored carriages, passengers will be transported back to a bygone era of train travel.
Tickets for our Lounge Car and Wealden Ramber services, which cover Afternoon tea and steam-hauled travel are priced at £30 for First Class and £28 for Country Class. Tickets can be purchased by telephoning us on 01825 720800.
Afternoon Tea consists of a selection of finger sandwiches, assorted
cakes and shortbread served with Indian tea.
