During the 2004 Santa Special season, 34059 was placed in the works in order to release shed space for the operating locomotives. Whilst in the works, the opportunity was taken to rebore the outside cylinders and the inside cylinder and valve. This picture shows the left cylinder after reboring.
Both outside cylinders require to have liners fitted,
and these are to be ordered shortly.
The inside cylinder,
being newer,
does not require lining.
New valve heads have been made.
