On Imberhorne Viaduct

Date: 7th May 1995

The handing over ceremony of Imberhorne Viaduct from Network SouthEast to the Bluebell Railway occurred on 8th September 1992, with track in-situ. The task of removing these sidings for safe keeping and to allow easier access for examination of the structure began a few years later.

Date: 7th Jan uary 1996

The removal work seen in full swing - the rails and fittings were taken to the Bluebell's compound at East Grinstead, located at the northern end of the viaduct.

Date: 22nd August 2004

Looking towards Kingscote off the end of the viaduct in Summer 2004 - when this photo was taken, Bluebell laid tracks were only about 3/4 of a mile away the other side of Imberhorne tip.

Spinning the camera around 180 degrees from the previous set of pictures shows the view along the viaduct towards East Grinstead.

This recent view illustrates some of the repairs made to the viaduct's vandalised brickwork.
