34072 '257 Squadron'

I saw this visiting locomotive on a dreary 23rd September 1990,  at a time when I had just started using a manual camera and was struggling to understand exposure settings, so my apologies for the poor quality!  She was newly restored at the time, a lot of the work being done at Swindon I believe, hence the headboard.  She now lives at the Swanage Railway, where she has recently been withdrawn for her ten yearly boiler overhaul.  Her owning group, Southern Locomotives Ltd., plan to overhaul her at the same time as one of her unrestored sister engine 'Manston', once they have completed rebuilt West Country class 'Eddystone'.

Running around her train at Sheffield Park.

Running around at Horsted Keynes.
