Volunteer Opportunities:

With trains running on three-quarters of the days of the year, recruitment of new volunteers in all departments is an ongoing project, and there are details here of how you could help us as a volunteer.

The Catering Department is seeking volunteers

The Catering Department is seeking volunteer staff for our various outlets at Sheffield Park, Horsted Keynes and East Grinstead, and our premier Golden Arrow dining train and Lounge car service providing a first class experience at weekends and during the evening. Our Buffets open before the first train departs and closes after the last train arrive back at Sheffield Park.

Trains run every weekend and also run midweek from April through to December. If you have experience of retail that would be an advantage, but no experience is required. All training and uniform would be provided.

Volunteers would work on a regular rota depending on their availability.

The role in the buffets would include serving customers with snacks, drinks and may involve stocking shelves during the day to replenish stock and clearing tables. It can be a busy environment during peak times.

The Golden Arrow dining train and Wealden Rambler require you to serve on a moving train.

In addition to the satisfaction gained from working in a heritage railway environment, there is opportunity to enjoy staff discounts on a range of goods and services.

If you like working and meeting people then this could be the role for you.
If you think this is something you could do then to join this fantastic team of volunteers please contact Simon Barker or Megan Laughlin on 01825 724881 or email to Simon.barker@bluebell-railway(dot)co(dot)uk - replace (dot) with "." in email address.

You will need to become a working member of the railway to be a volunteer. Please look on our website for more details.
