The Bluebell Railway

Applications are invited for the post of
Safety Manager

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the railway is kept abreast of current legislation on safety & environmental management requirements and will also play a leading role in helping deliver overall compliance with this legislation. This post has a wide range of responsibilities and pivotal to their successful delivery is provision of guidance and support to all levels of staff, taking responsibility for specific safety initiatives, undertaking audits and promulgation of the safety message through development & delivery of safety training and publicity. The post also carries specific responsibility for the Bluebell Railway Safety Management System.

Applicants for this post will have a background in railway safety, be familiar with H&S, ROGS and other key legislation and ideally be qualified to NEBOSH Diploma level although candidates working towards or willing to obtain this qualification will be considered.

Self motivation and good interpersonal skills along with a strong belief in the development of a natural safety culture and the ability to motivate and support all levels of staff are essential qualities for this challenging post.

This is a full time 40 hours per week salaried post with some weekend and unsocial hours involvement. Actual hours and salary are subject to discussion at the interview stage.
