John Jesson
John, who was engineering lead on the Standard Class 2 project, died suddenly at his home in Lindfield on 26 August 2018. He had been involved with the 84030 project for 20 years, and is seen here on the project stand at the Collectors' Fair in July 2017 in a photo by Derek Hayward.
The funeral service was held on Thursday 13 September at the United Reformed Church, High Street, Lindfield, West Sussex.
Alan Sturt
Alan, one of the founder students who campaigned to save the Bluebell Line, passed away on 31 August 2018. He had been in a nursing home at Northwood for a while. Aged 78, Alan is the second of the four founders to pass away.

Joyce Vigor
Joyce, who amongst other things ran the Buffet at Horsted Keynes Station back in the 1980s, was well known on the Railway and in Horsted Keynes village, helping to run the village shop for many years. Her funeral was on Monday 3 September 2018, with a reception on the Railway afterwards. Our condolences to her daughter Sarah, who works on the railway, and their family.
Chris Pyle
It is with sadness we heard that Chris passed away on 21st August 2018. Well known in the C&W department for painting carriage ceilings, taking advantage of his considerable height, Chris was also an important part of the Horsted Keynes Pullman Car Fund, preferring to be involved quietly behind the scenes. Most recently he had taken a large proportion of the interior of the Bulleid composite No.5768, which is currently being restored, home a few bits at a time. Each piece of timber would return a week or two later resplendent after numerous coats of varnish.
Chris' wife Jackie was pleased to see many of his friends attend his funeral, to celebrate his life. The funeral, took place on 5 September at St.Barbara's Garrison Church, Deepcut, Surrey, followed by a buffet reception and drinks at The Royal Oak Public House, Knaphill.
Chris spent 45 years as a Bluebell Railway volunteer, so donations in his name were invited, which will go to a project in the Bluebell's Carriage and Wagon Department where he worked.
