Pauline Harvie
-
Edward Hankey

Pauline Harvie - We are very sorry to have to report that Pauline, wife of Stationmaster Len Harvie and one of our Booking Clerks, passed away on Sunday morning (7 August) after suffering a brain haemorrhage. Pauline had recently successfully fought her way through Leukaemia and this comes as a blow after she was so determined to beat the disease.
Pauline was looking forward to resuming her normal fortnightly turn in the booking office and had already done one Sunday, with strict instructions from us that if she felt tired, she was to go for a ride on the train and have a snooze! She was one of our stalwarts and will be much missed, both as a colleague and as a friend.

Pauline's funeral will be held the The Ridge Crematorium, Hastings on Wednesday 17th August at 2pm. No flowers please. The Crematorium is on the B2093.

Edward Hankey - Following his move into a hospice in June, it is with regret and sadness that we report that Edward passed away in the early hours of 14 July. A Celebration of the Life of Edward Hankey was held at South West Middlesex Crematorium, on Monday 1st August. Flowers were limited to family only, but anyone who wishes to is invited to make a donation in Edward's name to: Princess Alice Hospice, Light up a Life In Memoriam Fund, West End Lane, Esher, Surrey, KT10 8BR
Ed managed one of the three Santa trains last year, often ran one of our Buffet Cars, or acted as a travelling ticket inspector, and was a stalwart of Fish & Chip and Real Ale Train operations. For some years now he's also been one of the regular crew of the Great Northern Directors' Saloon. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and worked alongside him.
