Foundations being laid for the new wharehouse building in the upper car park.
A second-hand kit-form building has been obtained from a leading supermarket,
which will be used to store locomotive parts which are currently stored in the workshop
(taking up valuable working space),
in various shipping containers,
or lying outside on the ground.
Once the building is erected the whole site can be tidied up,
although large parts of locomotives will of course need to stay outside.
For those who have not visited for a while,
this picture shows how the "old shed" has come back into active use.
Roller-shutter doors have been fitted at both ends to keep the cold out in winter.
At the north end a concrete floor has been laid for parking the two forklift trucks,
with the rest of the shed being used for the smaller working locomotives,
with Birch Grove visible after its day's work on 28 February.
