
An edge-on view of the section of the main frame of the tender which has been cut away from the
front right side,
showing the extent of the corrosion in which over half the original plate thickness has been lost.
A new section of frame has been made,
and a new front drag-beam.
Further corrosion has been found in the first cross-stretcher behind the front dragbox.
When the replacement dragbox has been fitted this stretcher will be removed and replaced with a new
one,
which will involve removing and replacing the brake hanger bracket shown in this picture and the
outrigger on the other side.
