The first Terrier cylinder casting has arrived at Sheffield Park.
This casting is for a left cylinder -- the more complicated one with the main steam pipe. This picture, with the casting standing upside-down, shows the valve ports, and rear end of the cylinder with the square mounts for the slide bars.
This picture shows the front of the cylinder bore, and the brackets which bolt onto the engine's frames. The protrusions on top are the bosses for the cylinder drain taps.
A second left casting is being made, after which the pattern will be returned so that it can be setup for casting two right cylinders.
