Branch Line Weekend

Over the weekend of the 28th and 29th February 2004, 6 locomotives were in steam for this annual event. < /b>

No.9017 makes a magnificent sight as it threads through Lindfield Wood with the 'Cambrian Coast Express'.

A little later on the Saturday, No.9017 departs from Sheffield Park.

With 6 locomotives in service, there was space in the yard to display Nos.C1 and 488, both currently out of traffic. They are seen here afte r dark on the Saturday.

The Sunday started off predominantly overcast, but by lunchtime we were into a regime of sunny spells and snow showers! Here, No.65 climbs away from Vaux End with the 12.15 from Sheffield Park.

Please note that the above picture was taken while on p-way work, and is in an area not covered by the lineside permits.

With the sun shining almost straight into the lens, No.9017 blasts into Horsted Keynes with the 2pm from Sheffield Park.

'Stepney' and 'Normandy' were in charge of the 3.07pm, seen here making a rapid restart after being stopped at the Horsted Keynes up inner-home si gnal.
