Bulleid's SEmG Photos 4

The Blubell Railway's Pullman set was also in use, hauled by veteran
South Eastern & Chatham Railway 'C' class 0-6-0 no. 592, seen
arriving tender-first at Horstead Keynes.

One of the reason why most of these photographs were taken at Horstead
Keynes is that trains pass here, meaning there is a reasonable wait.
After the Pullman arrived from Kingscote, the Q1 pulled in with a train
from Sheffield Park. I think the 9F also arrived here soon after,
meaning that all useable platform faces were full.
All Bulleid tenders have curved sides which matches the Bulleid coaches, and that can be seen well here although it is BR stock.

Although not an original SECR feature, success with the tender signalbox
on the Q1 has encouraged the Bluebell Railway to trial it with the 'C'
class as well. Visibility is not good though, and the driver can be seen
leaning well out. A lookout is also posted in the leading window of the
'box, but obviously is new to the job as he is looking the wrong way.
