Ivatt tank to visit Bluebell

Ivatt tank number 41312 will be paying a flying visit to the Bluebell Railway to take part in their Branch Line Weekend on 22nd & 23rd February 03

Event organiser Neil Glaskin is delighted the Mid Hants Railway based locomotive is available and on the Saturday it will be used to haul the railway's Bulleid Coaching Set recreating a typical Southern Region branch line train of the 1950's

Other locomotives in service will be Terriers number 55 "Stepney" & 672 "Fenchurch", E4 Class Number 473 "Birch Grove" and Standard Class 4 tank 80151

Neil said "On Saturday authentic branch line trains will operate with locomotives and carriage matched to create typical branch line trains from the Victorian times, through the 1920's & 1950's and onto the 1960's"

The use of 41312 with the Bulleid coaches and 80151 with a three-car green Mark One set will be very typical of the Sussex branch lines towards the end of steam working on the Southern

A full working timetable is available in advance price £2.50 from Horsted Keynes station, Haywards Heath, RH17 7BB

The Ivatt tank is also booked to operate two photographic charters during its two-week visit
