Tesco opens for business at Sheffield Park

6 April 2001

View of Tesco

The shed obtained from the supermarket company Tesco has been erected and is now in use for storage of locomotive parts, allowing a tidy-up of the yard and scrapping of the infamous 40-foot container. So now if you hear a loco worker going to Tesco for parts it's in here. High-value items are still stored in a more secure place.

View of storage racks Some of the delights within - loads of old bits, including about a thousand years' supply of vacuum brake couplings.
