News of some repairs to No 75027

View of loco 75027 became due for a pistons and valves exam. Here the front end parts are piled in front of the engine, with the valves in the centre and one piston in the background.

The right cylinder required re-boring. The left picture shois the boring machine in position, and the right one shows it with the new rings in the bore.


This loco's return to service has been delayed by the discovery of two cracked flue tubes. All the flue tubes will now be replaced.
