Recent film and TV productions to have used the Bluebell as a major location include "Downton Abbey", "The Invisible Woman", "The Woman in Black" and "John Carter". Earlier productions included "Wind in the Willows", "The Railway Children", "Station Jim", "The Ruby in the Smoke" and "Miss Potter". Over the years we have provided facilities for countless other film and television productions, and directors such as Ken Russell have returned to use us on multiple occasions. Locations on the railway are also available for shooting stills and music videos.

Brief details of recent filming assignments undertaken on the Bluebell are available here.

We are able to offer:

Sheffield Park Platform 1 Horsted Keynes (Lewis Nodes) Stations representing periods from Victorian times to the 1950s, including the impressive junction station of Horsted Keynes with its five platform faces. Stations also feature traditional signalling, waiting rooms, etc., and the advantages of quiet rural locations.

1875-built Stepney (Mike Esau) O1 locomotive at the SECR Gala (Jon Horrocks) A large variety of operational steam locomotives ranging from the Victorian and Edwardian period, right up to more modern ones which ran until the end of steam in 1968.

Details of currently operational locomotives are available here, and additionally it may be possible to make some of those listed as being on static display available "as if in steam" if required.

British Railways Loco 'Camelot' (Hiroshi Naito)

Traditional semaphore signals frame British Railways locomotive "Camelot" .

Vintage Branch-line Train (Mike Nichols) A wide variety of carriages, again representing all periods; Victorian, Edwardian, Art-deco Pullmans, Pre-war, Post-war and relatively modern.

Also a wide variety of trucks, wagons, and other goods stock covering the same period.

Seven Victorian carriages in full working order, with appropriate locomotives.

Great Northern Railway Saloon (Mike Esau) Vintage Goods Train (Richard Salmon)

Stepney and Birch Grove coming north from Horsted Keynes (Jon Bowers) Along our line we have a variety of scenery and features; bridges and cuttings, embankments, double track sections (right), a river crossing and a tunnel, and of course at Sheffield Park we can offer the atmosphere of a working steam locomotive shed. Many of our members are experienced as extras, be-it as passengers, station-master, engine-driver or train guard. We can even supply musicians - we have our own concert band.

We are listed under Location Services in UK - England and Wales in Mandy's International Film and TV Production Directory, and as a location in KFTV (formerly Kemps Film and Television) production services handbook online.
We are included on pages about Sussex Film Locations at www.ukfilmlocation.co.uk and www.hammer-film-locations.co.uk
