2026 BRPS EGM and AGM
13 June 2026


(Update 17 June 2026)

The results of the votes at the EGM, and of the election of Trustees at the AGM, are below:

EGM Resolutions:

  • Resolution 1: New Article 34 to convert the Society to a Community Benefit Society, subject to the Society agreeing the Rules of the new CBS at a subsequent EGM
    420 votes for, 1 against and 4 abstentions
  • Resolutions 2 & 3: Abolish the sale of NEW Life Memberships with effect from 1st October 2026
    Resolution 2: 350 for, 22 against and 12 abstentions
    Resolution 3: 354 for, 14 against and 12 abstentions
  • Resolution 4: Revision to Articles 14 and 17 to clarify when Special Resolutions are appropriate and correcting an oversight from 2025
    381 for, 2 against and 2 abstentions
AGM Elections:

Election of Chairman, Vice Chairman and Membership Trustee:
Only one nomination for each these posts was received and Keith Leppard (Chairman), Neil Glaskin (Vice Chairman) and Andrew Graham (Membership Trustee) were duly elected.

Election of Trustees:

  • Tim Preston - 262 votes - Elected
  • Annette Courtenage-Dennis - 259 votes - Elected
  • Ben Wetherall - 232 votes - Elected
  • Jamie Hooper - 191 votes - Elected
  • Alex Widdowson - 117 votes
  • James Parker - 107 votes
  • Peter Gilbert - 93 votes
Congratulations to those elected and commiserations to those unsuccessful. Thank you all for standing for election.

Notice of an EGM of the BLUEBELL RAILWAY PRESERVATION SOCIETY, to be held on Saturday 13th June 2026 at Sheffield Park Station, commencing at 3pm, prior to the AGM, has been posted to members, and is available to download here (PDF).

Since the announcement that structural changes were afoot, things have moved on rapidly. Both the Society & Plc Boards have agreed to put in place the changes necessary for each body to become a Community Benefit Society, to be followed by the merging of both entities into a single Charitable Community Benefit Society (CCBS). Society members would become members in the CCBS alongside the shareholders from the Plc.  Further details are in the EGM Notice linked above.
