Kingscote's Temporary Signal Box

Kingscote Temporary Signal Box
Richard Salmon

The former temporary signal box at Kingscote. The signalman, Bert Bassett, watches the train pass the box, after receiving the token. The signalman has to ensure that the train is complete (i.e. that the last vehicle carries the tail lamp) since it is only by doing so that he can be sure that the line is clear for the next train.

The small preceeding shunt signal is also visible. All other signals at Kingscote within the immediate station area are full size upper quadrant arms on SR-style rail-posts.
