I am sorry to have to tell you that Ron Cheeseman passed away overnight on Saturday 20 December 2014 in hospital where he had been undergoing treatment for cancer. Ron was one of our midweek Booking Clerks for many years, alternating is day (Thursday) in the booking office with a day of platform duties. When East Grinstead opened, he transferred to there as it meant he could travel to the railway by train. He was also an Assistant Membership Secretary, stepping down from that earlier this year when he first found out that he had cancer.The funeral was on Wednesday 7th January 2015 at Beckenham Crematorium.
