Passenger Luggage Van No. 1184

1184 was built in 1936 at the Southern Railway's Ashford Works as a Passenger Luggage Van. British Railways gave these PLVs the new classification Parcels and Miscellaneous Van (PMV). S1184 continued in revenue service until 1957 when it was converted to a staff mess and tool van for the S&T Department on the Southern Region, acquiring the number KDS164. After withdrawal it was purchased for the Bluebell Railway S&T Department, arriving on 2nd June 1986.
