Test run of Metropolitan Railway Carriage No.412
Following a four-year restoration, the last of the four Metropolitan Railway carriages to be overhauled, No.412, had a successful test run from Horsted Keynes to Kingscote and back on Thursday 14 December 2006. It enters service on the Victorian Christmas Train on 21st December.
The photos show the entire 4-coach set at Kingscote half way through the test run. Click on any photo for an enlargement.
In the coming months the BASH team will undertake further work on the other three Met coaches (the first two have now been in traffic for 7 years) before the Gala Launch is organised (hopefully in the late spring of 2007).
