LSWR B4 No. 96 'Normandy'
2024 overhaul
'Normandy' in Atlantic House, its overhaul having commenced in mid-2024
The locomotive is in 'Atlantic House' for an "internal contract" overhaul, largely funded from the money already raised, with the work undertaken by the team who have built the new Brighton Atlantic.
In addition to this page, recording the overhaul for posterity, there are more frequent and detailed reports:

April 2025
On 10 April, as seen in Melvin Frohnsdorff's photo, Normandy was wheeled out of Atlantic House, and its boiler lifted.
Dismantling the locomotive, including lifting out the boiler, is always a key stage in any overhaul; the boiler can now be properly inspected to determine what repairs, beyond the mandatory replacement of boiler tubes, will be required.
Richard Salmon's photos below, taken on 21 and 27 April, show the frames in Atlantic House, and the boiler in the yard on its trolley.

See the Bluebell Railway's Web Page for 'Normandy' and the Bulleid Society's Web Page.
