Chairman's Updates

In February 2023, with the then Bluebell Railway Preservation Society (BRPS) Chairman, Paul, taking over also as interim Chairman of the plc, he initiated a series of weekly newsletters, with the intention of being totally open with all Bluebell members, shareholders, volunteers and other supporters, and keeping them up to date with how the Railway is tackling the challenges presented by the current UK-wide cost-of-living/cost-of-energy crisis.

For context, the Bluebell Railway is run on a day-to-day basis by the plc, a not-for-profit company, majority owned by the BRPS (which sets the long-term policies), and its operation is enabled by 1000 volunteers who work alongside a small full-time staff. The Bluebell Railway Trust is the charitable organisation which also supports many projects around the Railway thanks to fund-raising, donations and gifts left in people's Wills.
