With no trains running due to engineering works between Horsted Keynes and Sheffield Park this year's Track Trek sponsored walk will again cover the entire line from East Grinstead to Sheffield Park, a distance of eleven miles. The walk will take place during the daytime on Saturday 18 November raising money for the Tr(ack) Action Appeal, that will be formally launched in October, which is an appeal set up to raise £250,000 for the renewal of track along parts of the Railway. The target for the Track Trek is to raise £15,000 which will buy a new 60 foot track panel. A complimentary bus service will operate to take trekers from Sheffield Park to East Grinstead in the morning and then back to their original starting point at the end of the Track Trek.

2015 Track Trek at West Hoathly - Mike Hopps - 24 May 2015 There are not many opportunities to walk the entire length of the Railway as there are not many occasions when we are not running trains, and at the same time raise lots of money through sponsorship for this very important appeal. The minimum sponsorship was £25.00 per person and £40.00 for a couple or family (2 adults and 3 children aged between 7 and 16 years).

This is a chance not only for supporters to see the track from a different perspective, including the tunnel, but also to see first hand the track renewal works taking place between Horsted Keynes and Sheffield Park. At the same time it is a great opportunity to raise money for the Bluebell Railway by getting sponsorship from friends, family and work colleagues. Please encourage your sponsors (if they qualify) to Gift Aid their donation so we can claim an additional 25% on their contribution.

Numbers are expected to be high so it is best to secure your place by completing the form downloaded here, or email tracktrek(at)bluebell-railway.co.uk
